In Microsoft Excel, you can create a workbook or workbooks created by others can also be accessed and edited. In this post, you can find out simple steps to open and access Excel files. There are two commonly used methods to open Excel files.
Double Click to Open
You can simply double click on an Excel File from the File Explorer to open the selected file directly.
Opening within the Microsoft Excel
To open an Excel file from within the Excel App without leaving the program, follow the steps:
1. Click on the “File” Tab in Excel.
2. Next you have to Click on “Open” from the Left-Hand Menu.
3. A new Tab will Open where you will have to select an option from:
Recent: This option helps you to select the files which you have opened recently.
Shared with me: This selection lets you access files which have been shared online with you on services such as OneDrive or SharePoint.
OneDrive: It lets you directly open Excel Files saved on Microsoft OneDrive.
This PC: You can select and open files on Local Computer from here.
Browse: This opens a new tab in which the computer’s folders, drives and network sharing locations can be accessed.
4. Select the file which you want to open from the above access options.
5. After Selecting the file, Click on the Open button.
