Microsoft Releases ChatGPT-Like Features in the Copilot AI App for Android

For Android users, Microsoft has released a new app called Copilot. The users can use the Copilot AI chatbot as a stand-alone service using the new app. Unlike the Bing app, which is essentially a search engine, this app is distinct. The newly released software caters to Microsoft AI technology. There isn't currently an iOS version of the app, but it has been accessible on the Google Play Store for around a week.

The recently released app is developed by "Microsoft Corporation" and is listed as "Microsoft Copilot" on the Google Play Store. Microsoft describes the app as "Your everyday AI companion" in the app description.

What are the features of Microsoft Copilot?

The Copilot software is essentially identical to the ChatGPT Android app, which was released earlier this year. The Copilot app will enable chatbot communication, DALL-E 3 picture creation, and email and document writing assistance. Additionally, it offers free access to OpenAI's most recent GPT-4 model, which typically requires a ChatGPT subscription. Voice inputs are an option available in the new app. Text and photos can also be added as app inputs.

Over a month ago, Microsoft renamed Bing Chat as Copilot. Microsoft's AI was initially integrated into the Bing search engine, which displayed a ChatGPT-like user interface in search results. Although Microsoft now advertises Copilot as a separate platform, but this capability is still available in Copilot. Additionally, it's now available on copilot.microsoft.com, exclusive website for Copilot.

This move to distinguish Copilot onto its own platform includes the new Copilot mobile apps. This corresponds with Bing Chat Enterprise's recent rebranding to Copilot. Though it hasn't been released yet, the Copilot app will soon have an iOS version. In the meanwhile, iOS users can access Copilot capabilities on their iPhones and iPads by using the Bing app.
